Identify the component and its coating

Printed circuit board (PCB) production may use coated titanium anodes in selected electroplating processes. The titanium provides the supporting structure; the active coating depends on the process and electrode specification. Do not assume every titanium mesh component has a platinum or iridium coating. Check equipment documentation and keep different electrode types separate.

What changes the recycling assessment?

A used component can contain a titanium substrate, residual coating and deposits from service. Their relative quantities and condition influence the appropriate recycling route. Copper-bearing process residues are not the same material as a titanium anode. Record the original application, known coating specification and any cleaning history rather than estimating metal content from colour or surface wear.

Information to prepare

Provide photographs of the complete components and worn areas, dimensions, estimated net weight, available material records and the location of the batch. State whether there are attached parts, retained liquids or other residues. Sampling and analysis may be needed to establish recoverable metal content; this cannot be guaranteed from a product name alone.

Contact Huatuo Metals to discuss the material before dispatch. Agree acceptance, preparation, transport and settlement terms for the particular batch. Keep unknown process residues separate and do not attempt chemical stripping simply to improve the appearance of the scrap.
